Lemon Rating:  One juicy and one rotten lemon

The rotten lemon is awarded because the dual class share structure is not well thought-through.  To be sure, we support the need for dual class structure at this time.  The juicy lemon is awarded for excessive and at times thoughtless political lobbying.


Google is not a conventional company.  We do not intend to become one.”  These words started the first letter from Larry Page and Sergey Brin to Google’s shareholders and the entry of Google into the public equity market.  To the delight of fans and at times to the dismay of its pundits, Google does everything the Google way, including corporate governance.  We therefore attempted to consider the Google way of governance on its merits, and not how it fits into a mold.  See our "Does One Size Fit All?" page under the Best Practices...  Read full text in PDF (click here).
